Park City Utah

The Ski Resort

One of the most exclusive ski resorts in North America, ranking alongside Aspen and Vail in respect of USA ski resorts top three, Park City is a favourite haunt for the rich and famous with many boasting fabulous ski villas around the town and suburbs.

Not only is the skiing outstanding, the apres-ski is pretty good too with several bars and restaurants in the town centre. Whilst generally the restaurants are more upmarket places to dine, there is plenty for all to enjoy. The village itself is pretty as you would expect from its luxury ski resort status and some of the buildings have been carefully restored to their historical glory, long before skiing took off.

Experts will love Park City as there is a mixture of challenging double black diamonds and easier ski black diamonds to choose with some good off-piste. Intermediate skiing is a little more limited but the beginners areas are excellent with a few short runs and lifts to start to build confidence.

Worth Knowing

The more luxurious luxury ski chalets in the Park City area are found outside of the main town. The town itself dates back over 200 years and was once a silver mining town - a far cry from its more illustrious position today. The centre itself has however been restored to maintain its vibrant historical appeal and is both striking in its colours and the variety of shops and boutiques that line the old main street.

Off Piste Skiing

The off-piste fresh powder is one of the big draws to Park City although some of the best powder requires some hefty rando to get the best and deepest. Scott''s Bowl and the Pinecone Ridge is extremely popular. Heli-skiing is also available and can be booked in resort or through Chalet Ski holidays.

Ski School

The nmain ski school in Park City is the Park City Ski and Snowboard School which has a very good reputation.

Snow Boarding

What is great about Park City is not just the great skiing on and off the piste, but the fact that it has four snow parks that have something for all levels. Being an American luxury ski resort they are always adding new rails, kickers, etc and keeping them all in top notch condition.
